~ Through the Looking Glass ~

6, 840, 507, 003 Billion.
                                                           Our world's population.

925 Million.
                                                           Total population living in poverty.

Every 1 in 7 people.
                                                           Are suffering from hunger.

Almost 5 Million children die from hunger each year.
That's one child every 5 seconds.
In fact, it's really shocking to know most of them died before they reached their fifth birthday.

Unfortunately, most of us, standing comfortably among the fortunate take food for granted. The tendency to leave an avoidable trace of food on the plate or pushing these beans, peas or veggies aside for clean-ups fairly reflect a slight consideration towards those who suffer from poverty and yes, even to those who bound to wash your plate.. It may be a habit or due the unbearable taste but as a matter of in fact, these are actually set by one's mind. An idea that one believed so much that it becomes a part of the individual which is pretty sad because the value that lies in these left over foods are worth much more than anyone could imagine.. They're a gift from the land, fruited from the farmer's effort and channeled to us through our parent's love and most importantly, these 'insignificant' undesirable piece carries the hope of Millions, so so precious that it could save lives. Yet, vulnerable enough to be ruined by a single human's own ignorance and desire.

Two siblings. Orphans. A brother's love.

He would do anything in exchange for his sister's smile and safety.

World War II made life very hard for them. It impacts the sister very badly.

Imagine the lives of millions who are in the same situation.

For those of you who have watched Studio Ghibli, you would noticed that the images above are very familiar. As yes, if you do not know, that little girl dies of starvation.

A movie worth to watch.

It is a very heart-wrenching sight indeed..

To see how people are wasting food like nobody else's business while the poor people out there would risk anything just to get a bite off your plate.
To know how people aren't making any effort for a change
                 in their eating habit.
To see how this trend is becoming into a cycle with
more and more young children picking up this
                              habit from their parents.

Anyway, it's definitely okay to be a picky eater as long as you do not waste any food yeah? :) No worries about picking food up from the floor and popping them into your mouth because as it's scientifically proven that 3 seconds of fall is absolutely fine. You don't know how much people appreciate it when you leave your plate clean.  :)

And remember to always put on your best SMILE! Heeeeeee  :)

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.

Everyone have a past. A hurting secret that you've never told. However, as long as you do not give up on yourself, you'll be able to make things right again no matter how bad it was.
Recently, I've had a short chat with a friend on Facebook. He told me a lot of things about being betrayed numerously, in terms of love, friendship and being used like a puppet and there were even times where he felt like ending his life. He has a deep passion in hip hop dancing and found out that was the only time when he could momentarily put his mind aside. However, being severely affected by the load of unfortunate events, he converted his stress into action through dance and rehearse intensely until the day when his body could not take the strain as it comes easily any longer. It wasn't his fault to begin with but I can't help but to say he was being silly because he should have love himself even more especially at times when nobody's there for him when he need someone who cares most.

Think about it. :)

Unconditional love is one thing but only when you truly love yourself, you would want what's best for you. Slowly but surely, good things will come to you because nothing beats a happy person with positive mindset that works as your best armor and healer yeah? :). Learn to love yourself and you'll love life and appreciate every single thing in it. Definitely, you'll meet all sorts of people in life but at the same time, you'll get to have the best people beside you and obtain worthwhile life experiences and these.. are the ones that will truly make your life count. :)

 Be yourself, truthfully.
Accept yourself, gratefully.
Value yourself, joyfully.
Forgive yourself, generously.
Balance yourself, harmoniously.
Bless yourself, abundantly.
Trust yourself, confidently.
Love yourself, wholeheartedly.
Empower yourself, immediately.
Give yourself, enthusiastically.
Express yourself, radiantly.

Despite the distance, we're still going strong. No words can describe how grateful I am for everything we've been through together and how much you've been always here for me.

~ Thoughts of the Day 13 ~

My mom fell ill again but I thank Buddha that she's feeling much better now. :) I'm not giving up with things that I can do to help her recover faster tho. When handing her the honey lemon I've made fresh , I can't help but to feel a slight happiness that she's smiling because that honestly, was the most beautiful thing in the world to see and to know that I'm the reason behind that smile. Then I realized that warm water shouldn't be used because it'll kill the Vitamin C. *Shoot* Funny thing that mom kept quiet about it tho.. and she was smiling all the wayIt helps to lessen my guilt in a way because if someone's falling ill, one of the sign would be that she's working too hard and you haven't been doing much to reduce her burden. So much for being a daughter. Jia you! :)

No one could ever be a better supporter than them. :)
