June Movie Marathon

ACCA at Sunway's so hectic that I have to put my huge cravings for movies away til the end of finals *sobs*.

Soon enough after the exam, my eye caught hold of this mini promotion ticket by TGV on The Star newspaper~~ Ngekekekekekekekekekekeh 0;)

Golden tickets! Psst: It's a buy one FREE one promotion so you cannot afford to miss this deal.

Hop onto my train and let's do some ride.

My first stop was "Now You See Me"

If you're the kind who go Bring It On! with something that you think it's impossible to outsmart yourself through things like magic (Mehhh.. it's only for kids), I highly recon you to watch this one. Just when you think you're alert enough, you've been tricked from the very start of the movie. I personally like stuff that makes my eyes says yes while my brain shouts no, because it adds a flick of fun into life and yes, this one contains lots of humor too. :) Very witty, consists of a lot of magic tricks and it's traps explained, you will feel as if you're right on the front seat of a live magic show!

My rating: 8/10

Next stop is "Fast & Furious 6"

I haven't been chasing any Fast & Furious sequels before (Unlike Harry Potter and Twilight) so I didn't notice there's a "6" on the movie poster until I stepped out from the cinema. Oh well. :) If thrill car rides and hot girls are your thing, you can go for this. Elements like suspense, gun shootings, fightings, "betrayal"? The title of this movie pretty much says it all. Although I do not know much on va va vrooms, but somehow, I felt like there's just something missing from this movie. Like I wasn't amazed at all with the plots or any of the drama. So it ended up as a very relaxing, laid back-and-watch movie experience for me. :/

My rating: 7.5/10

Toot toot to our third stand: "Man of Steel 2013"

Just when you thought you know everything about Superman, you don't. Well, actually the director gave a whole new twist to the origins of Superman. The guy from other planet sent to Earth just moments before the end of his world. And just when his father thought his son is safe, little did he know he is bound to be hunted down by his very own uncle. OOPS.. Sorry to spoil it guys! HEHE If you love the Spiderman movie, you would enjoy this one too because they're so so so similar. Breathtaking battlefield, stunning graphical illusion and boom boom sound effect all into one, you will definitely hold your breath to every last beat.

My rating: 8/10

Nuffnang Premiere Screening of Monsters University

I'VE ALWAYS LOVE DISNEY PIXAR work and this one is no exception. We've been waiting 10 years since the last movie of Monsters Inc and watching the thriller playing right on that cinema TV ads can be so nostalgic. *wipes imaginary tears* Everything about this movie is just so CUTE and I feel like a child in the candy store watching the monsters living life in their monster world just like us in ours. Throughout the entire movie, you can't help but to reflect their university life on yourself and as you watch how mediocre monster students become extraordinary, it really does motivates you to work hard too. :) All in all, the moral of the story gained her can be applied to our daily lives.

My rating: 9/10

Nuffnang always offer free movie passes and attractive movie merchandise through it's ever going on contests so if you're a Blogger and a Nuffnanger yourself, remember to always check out what's happening on Nuffnang!

Although I didn't get to win the OH SO AWESOME merchandises (I saw this man carrying a huge Sulley plushie on his arm T.T) but it's okay, two tickets are fine too.

Who can resist these cute replicas? Cheers!

A big thanks to Nuffnang for the great giveaways! :D

One good movie is never enough while on my trip back to grandma's hometown in Perak, I tagged along with my cousin to watch Monsters University once more.

 Chicken Little Not So Little

Okay, I look really short in this one but I'm a 165.

That's all for now guys! Hope my reviews on these movies helps you in checking through the list of movies for this month.

Take care!

Dare to Dream!

It's been a long time since I posted something here, so I'm really sorry to keep you waiting. For the past 4 months, it felt like life's really throwing "gold" at me and I felt like a zombie, walking blindly to God knows where on Earth. I really couldn't see where I was heading to, I was just trying to live the lucky turn in life that I have right now.. the path is already paved for me and I know that I know that if I keep persevering, it would greatly reward me with a future that most of my mates are working so hard for right now. But the question is, how am I going to excel in something that I know I'm not made for? No, it's not about the lack of confidence or hard work, it's a talent that I'm just not born with.. compared to my mates. Something that I have to work three or maybe four times harder than those who are talented in order to get in par with them. Will I still be able to put the falling pieces together after this finals? I really have no idea. Please bless me with what it takes to keep this with me. Amitofo. :)

It was last December when my dad's down with a semi-paralyzed stroke so we struggled for the first few months aiding him whenever possible but it never got easier. Every day felt like it's 48 hours and we were so financially, emotionally and physically exhausted. However, Buddha was kind and soon enough, we're back on our feet after he started regaining back his strength and could do more things on his own. Amitabha. :)

Gotta stay positive guys! :)

There's always something to learn from life, every day and from anyone at all if only you choose to look for them. :)

It was just this morning that my mom, two cousins and I went for grocery shopping to help the neighbor living on our left with her shopping list. She is a lovely Singh woman of 90+ years old, living alone with her Indonesian maid and a baby golden retriever. All of her children have migrated to overseas so there's basically no one around who can help her with this. I remember how her maid would always make us some warm paratta with dhal sauce whenever my mom offers to help them with their groceries because they couldn't drive. :) Anyway, so while we were driving home from Tesco and had to stop at the red traffic light, we saw a small figure in an orange baju kurung over-coated with a long grey tudung was moving slowly against the traffic from car to car. In her hand, are variety packets of tissue papers. She gives a humble glance into each vehicle to try her luck on selling these tissue packs and we saw how her eyes drop at each rejection. Seen enough and without a word, we started searching our pockets, car and handbag for small notes and I'm glad to look up to see her limping over with a smile. I wind down the window pane and told her "Tak ape, tak nak" (It's okay, I don't want it) while passing her the small change and that smile we got from her, it was all so worth it. :)

Back in the car, mother told us that we should always help those who are helping themselves. We saw that despite the blazing hot weather, that old woman would walk from street to street, crossing dangerous roads all by her own to sell goods to people without force. This is very different from street beggars who are blessed with good arms and legs and yet, would choose to do nothing while expecting something in return. So now it make sense to me why mother never donate to the beggars we saw at the night market. And it makes more sense why she only targeted her attention to old folks and woman with younger children because they certainly aren't able to work on their own, well restricted to physical limitations and milk powder these days are pretty can be pretty costly as well.

Kindness isn't all about being good to everyone you meet but to those who really need it. :)

So, the last time I bought something online was about a month ago.. and it was this:

Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel
(P.s.: I'm not doing this for promoting purposes)

I got the duo for only RM38 (including postage fee) at a buy one free one promotion that's going on and the seller even gave me a free mask pack. Thanks Florence for the suggestion! :) So just in case you're wondering about the fancy deco I put on the photos, it was as a part of the premium review for the purchase.

SOOOOO.. there're 8 easy peasy ways how you can use this gel:

I've only tried num1, 2, 5 and 7 so far.

Ultra happy with the long expiry date. :)

300ml! A very very big tub of aloe vera so can it definitely last me a long time :)

My skin's really sensitive that I've been trying all sorts of facial wash to prevent it from peeling and getting itchy from the chemicals in most products that would dry it so badly. I even used to experience lots of break outs because my face were always so oily and not to mention the blackheads. Then there goes the amount of online research I did to save my skin. Ahahaha.. AND surprisingly at the start of this year, I figure out my way through and they got better. So in the nut shell, I've been trying to keep my facial care products as natural as possible (be it facial wash, toner and moisturizer) and yes, water is very VERY important. :)

Anyway, I actually went to the shop ask the promoter about this product before buying them online and she told me that it cannot be used solely as a moisturizer because it's not hydrating enough. But I proceeded with the purchase anyway because it's seriously a great deal for such big amount of moisturizer. Hehe :) I have a habit of putting my masks and moisturizing lotion into the fridge believing that it will enhance the effect on my skin and yeap, there goes the tub into the fridge. I would keep this mini spatula in my tub that I got from those "ice cream tester" from the supermarket because I really don't wanna dig my finger into the gel.

How do I find it? A bit sticky at the first minute (all gels are sticky) BUT then, here comes the magic: The gel actually transforms into "water like" texture and completely disappears into my skin. So, after it's completely absorbed, the gel actually tightens my skin (making it supple) as well as the pore. And yes, it's been the only moisturizer I need so far. Well, in regards to the mask.. It's so far the only mask that I find which fully conforms with the shape and size of my face (other masks are either too big or the cutting of the masks doesn't quite fit) so my skin really made full use of the essence. Bonus point for a longer lasting cooling effect compared to other masks I've used too. Overall, I'm one happy user. :D

My masterpiece for today:
Cai Li as my model for French Fishtail Braid :)
Imma proud stylist :D

~ Thoughts of the Day 18 ~

We all have dreams, things that we wish we could do when we were younger. I remember I would have this amazing shiver down my spine whenever I hear people playing on their musical instruments, envy my cousins whenever they dive into the pool, as well as watch in awe as cheerleaders are thrown up into the air. There are just so so many things that I wanna do but I couldn't because I don't get the chance to when I was younger and these, are the things that even though I know I may be able to do it now, and if I were to do it now, it will not feel the same way again because that moment have passed in my life.. leaving an empty spot behind. I really wish I could gain back the courage to live my childhood dream once again but is it possible?

It's a horrible feeling to know that you can't turn back time and you've missed it so I don't want my children or anyone at all to go through the same thing as I did.
So hey.. if you have a dream that you're still holding onto, go for it.
If you have words unsaid to that special person, go tell it.
If you want something, go get it.
Don't give up on something that you can't live a day without thinking about.
For me, if time permits, I really hope to pick up new languages (French, Japanese and maybe Spanish?). And do something about my Chinese (oh gawd, please help me) cuz it's something that I know I would regret for not doing. Then I wanna pick up yoga once I start working. Get  a fat salary and big house and then into the arms of Enlo to live our life together. Eyyy, there's no harm dreaming if it works as a life destination isn't it? :) May us all have faith, strength and confidence to redefine our life once again!
