Event! Zurich TrueLady Tea Party

Photo taken after the makeover :)

Hi hi! :D Few days ago while preparing for my mom's birthday cake, I received a call from an unknown office number and the lady on the phone was speaking super soft and fast that I couldn't hear what she was saying so I went like "Hmm? Sorry, I can hear you. What event? This Sunday? WHAATTT?! I don't remember signing up for it. Hold on, lemme ask my sis". Only then I found up that my sister signed me up for the event days earlier. She was like "It's some event for females lah (us Malaysians with our LAH here and there), it's free and it's only available for the first 50 participants who signed up online" *feeling proud of herself* D:

Moments later, I received a confirmation email that looks like this:

YAYYY! She was right, the agenda does looks really good. :D

Zurich is one of the world’s leading insurance groups, and one of the few to operate on a truly global basis. Founded 140 years ago, today we employ over 60,000 dedicated employees and serve customers in over 170 countries around the world; with strong positions in North America and Europe, and growing positions in the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.

Wahh.. Best giler nampaknya kan? A very reliable and fully diversified insurance company it is. However, my parents have already bought a full protection plan for me in Prudential. Hahaha :) Anyway if you want to know more about the company click here http://www.zurich.com.my/

Beautiful purple backdrop with catching slogan!

Life's beautiful at every stage when you have a sure plan. No event is ever complete without equipping its visitors with small gifts to bring back home. Participants are given a lovely complimentary goodie bag with goodies filled to the brim! Wanna take a look into the bag? Stroll til the end of the post to find out yeah? Hehe :D

OH GAWD! They even prepared some snacks and titbits for us while waiting for the launch. Sweet! :D As you can see from the photos below, Zurich even "handpicked" these male waiter and dressed them up so cutely in red bows to serve us with teas, coffees and occasionally refilling the empty trays on our tables. :)

When the tides' comes in. Hello ladies! :)

The moments we've been awaiting for has finally arrived! Elaine Daly, an iconic lady for Malaysian women came up on stage to deliver her welcoming speech and shared some of her life experiences, inspiring stories and secrets to maintaining a balance lifestyle between both her career as well as personal life. This is the first time I've actually see her so closely upright and she looks as good as she is on the TV. Elaine is currently an ambassador for Zurich Malaysia and according to her, she first accepted the proposal with no thoughts-at-all on the salary she will be receiving and confessed that working with Zurich has indeed became one of the turning point of her life. :)

Zurich TrueLady is a special plan designed for women solely from its understanding and recognition of the many roles a woman will take on the course of her life. It is a single comprehensive policy that evolves and grows to protect a woman's changing roles and needs, from a singled woman to a married lady, followed by pregnancy and childbirth, and all the way through motherhood. It puts every lady first, in every way, by taking into consideration what makes her feel secure at every stage of her life.

Hence, this concept is demonstrated in a ballet stage performance as the opening ceremony of the event.

Simply breathtaking, I can't help but to gasp at every single movements they did so swiftly.. reminds me of the Black Swan movie. :) And it's as if I'm watching a international standard performance performed by professionals and highly experienced dancers but the fact is, they're all really young. :D Kudos for that!

Jil Yong, a professional make up artist for many celebrities took over the stage with her grooming talk and demo later on. According to her, the ideal amount of foundation you should be putting on your face is the size of the 20 cent coin if you want your make up to stay on your face for a whole day long. As Malaysia has a humid weather, we will tend to have oily skin at the T-zone area so it is important to blot the oil off your face first before you brush on more powder on your face. One of the beauty tips I find quite rewarding from her is to identify the best feature of your body or face (nose, eyes, lips, decollete, neck etc) and flaunt it well. It's not about wearing sexy dresses which gives only temporary confidence. It is about preserving the beauty of these assets you have by selecting the right makeup tone to further enhance it and moisturize it well. You know, no matter how well you take good care of your face but your neckline & the area above your chest WILL FAIL you if you do not pay equal attention to it as what you did on your face. So ladies, the next time you wash, tone or moisturize your face, make sure you do the same too to these two areas! :)

Vincent, a hairstylist taught the crowd how to fully transform your hair in 5 minutes and help us to better understand the structure and condition of out hair which of course, varies according to individuals. Also, he shares some tips to make flat hair appear voluminous which is to apply hair powder on hair just above the scalp.

The final talk for the day is on how youth flows through healthy food choice by a nutritionist in which I forgot what her name was because I was so excited to try out the beauty makeover booths. YES, FREE MAKEOVER . Also, it means I wasn't paying attention lah! Hahahaha :D Basically, it's about having a proper diet and to drink lots of water to keep your skin moisturize and supple throughout the day because if you have good skin condition, putting make up on will enhance your facial complexion and your make up will last longer a.k.a less trip to the toilet. :)

There are three types of makeover booths located around the event area: Mainly the Manicure services, hair and beauty makeover. If you had a long day shopping and your body ache, you can even drop by at the "seifu massage" booth for a 5 minutes ache relief as well as have your BMI check with a detail report and professional advice from the health experts! As true as it's slogan is, Zurich TrueLady puts ladies first, always. :D

Spot the O.P.I nail varnish! :D

Sooooooooooo.. I didn't get my nails done because the queue is just so long! I mean, just look at the line~ *shakes bum* Nahhh, actually it's because I have stubby and short nails and And ANNNNDDD I don't want the nail artist to comment on my nails. Ehehehe 0:)

I hopped onto the next line to wait to get my hair done because I saw the big, lovely, bouncy curls the stylist made for the all ladies before me. MY GAWD I was feeling so itchy handed to get my try because I've always wonder how I will look like with my hair done that way. So yes, my legs were aching so badly with all the standings but it's okay! I kept persevering for Those curlsssssssssssss

AND FINALLY IT'S MY TURN! :D

Hahahahaha check out the man behind me. :P

Her name is Carmen, a student from Miko Hair Studio and we had some nice friendly chat while she patiently does my hair.

10 minutes later and TADAAAA!!

Nice or not? Hahahahahahaha I personally think that it makes me look older than my age (I'm 20 years old btw) so I don't think I will be perming my hair anytime sooner until I'm older. 25-30 years old perhaps? :)
If you're interested, do drop by at Miko Hair Studio for a nice hair fix which will automatically for a whole new transformed look. We're the modern ladies after all, no? :)

After I'm done with my "new" hair *happy girl*, I dropped by at the Makeover Booth to see how my beloved sister is doing.

Love the color palettes!

Hmmm.. What do you think of this look, Miss?

Adding a final touch of perfection.

Enough of drooling I had so I quickly went to line up (again)  for my turn. Gahhh my feet T.T

While she was putting on the make up for me, I kept taking photos and Miss Xin Ling asked if it's the first time I've actually had my make up on. *facepalms* so paiseh weih! Need to find a place to bury my face d. Nolar, this is for you all. If I didn't take all of these photos, I wouldn't be able to share my life as well as update my already-dying-of-boredom blog isn't it? Hahahahahahaha 0:)

I feel so.. vain. However, when vanity strikes, you gotta go with the flow. :) I requested for a very natural touch because I've always believed in simplicity + a smile is the best make up a girl can ever wear, no? :) So, I'm kinda happy with it cuz I greatly appreciate any form of help and effort that people do for me, no matter how small it is. :)

So, after hours of standing, I resorted to the "seifu massage" mainly to rest my feet as I will get to sit while the therapist does her work. Hehe

The massage.. I don't know how to describe it but the therapist seemed to be using this unique "pinch & pull" technique in which they claim, will help to boost your beauty (probably encouraging skin rejuvenation/ uplifting/ restore), prevent lethargy and ease body/ muscle strains. Her name is Emily btw. :)

OHH OHH! As I've promised earlier in the post to display my barney bag's content. To be honest, Zurich Malaysia is one of the kindest organizer of events I've been to so far! Just look at all the treats they have for us ladies, a kind of pamper that some of us even forgot to give to ourselves. So, thank you for reminding us. :)

I squeal with happiness the moment I opened the box and there, this blingy flower pen drive sat there looking at me. What a pleasant surprise! My friend lost my pen drive some time ago which was a precious birthday gift from my one of my best friend in college and I didn't get a new one til now. Seeeeeee, told cha' that Zurich understands women well. :)

What a darling rose candle :)

Okaylahhh, so much of beauty booths visiting, are you interested to see my before and after grooming photos or not? To be honest lah, I didn't bother to put anything on my face except for moisturizer when I left home that morning because after all, there will be professionals who will be helping me out isn't it? Hahahaha :P Sorry lah, typical Malaysian girl speaking here. :)

BEFORE

Credits must be given to my dearest sister for signing me up for this event because I've indeed came to a realization that I've neglected myself due to the thinking that I'm still young and I do not want to spend too much time and money on beauty products as well as the importance of personal grooming. Confidence as well as not needing to worry if you'll look haggard during a unpredictable circumstances. Hahahaha :D Also, I will help to take good care of my mom's skin condition since her wrinkles line and signs of aging arises from us, her children. You know lah, there are lovely aunties like my mom who tend to think "Aiyahh.. I'm already married and old, it's troublesome and it doesn't matter much to me anymore". Wrong. It's okay if you don't want to do it mom, I'll apply night cream for you every night before you head to bed. I love you mommy! A mother's love is irreplaceable.

AFTER

This is for you, Enlo. :)

Ahhhh.. So vain. Hahahahaha but it's okay, since it's comes once in a blue moon. :) Good night loves! :)
